Popular Nigerian comedian Real Warri Pikin has apologised to her husband and fans following reactions to her viral stage interaction with singer Timaya at the 2026 AFRIMMA Awards held in Dallas, United States.
The comedian’s appearance alongside Timaya during his performance generated widespread discussions online, with some social media users questioning the nature of the interaction.
The controversy came shortly after Real Warri Pikin won the Best Stand-Up Comedian award at the event, although the attention surrounding her stage moment with Timaya overshadowed her achievement.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the comedian explained that she was backstage when Timaya invited a female guest to join him during his performance.
She said she went on stage because she enjoys entertaining performances and was unaware that the singer’s routine involved inviting someone on stage and lifting the person.
According to her, she initially declined when Timaya asked her to participate in the performance but later joined after the singer encouraged her not to disrupt the show.
The interaction, which appeared entertaining to attendees at the event, later attracted mixed reactions online after videos from the performance surfaced.
Real Warri Pikin said she did not intend to create any controversy and expressed regret over the concerns raised by her husband and fans.
She has continued to address the situation while thanking supporters for their understanding.
