Prominent leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have formally presented Senator Sharafadeen Alli to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
The presentation reportedly took place on Saturday evening, following the conclusion of the party’s governorship primary election held days earlier.
Senator Alli, who currently represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, was introduced to the President by a high-powered APC delegation from the state.
The delegation was led by former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and current APC State Chairman, Chief Moses Adeyemo. He was joined by another former Deputy Governor, Chief Iyiola Oladokun, and former Oyo Central Senator, Senator Ayoade Adeseun.
Other members of the delegation included Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, APC National Deputy Auditor, alongside Mr Gbenga Olayemi and Mr Soji Adedeji.
During the meeting, the party leaders reaffirmed their support for President Tinubu while pledging collective backing for Senator Alli’s gubernatorial ambition in the forthcoming election cycle.
The engagement is seen as part of efforts by the Oyo APC leadership to consolidate party unity and strengthen political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 governorship contest.
