The Ondo State Government has announced plans to digitise all its laws and make them freely accessible to the public, in what officials describe as a major milestone in promoting transparency, improving access to justice.

The initiative was unveiled by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo (SAN), following a strategic meeting with the Managing Director of LawPavilion Business Solutions Limited, Mr. Ope Olugasa, in Abuja.

Dr. Ajulo described the move as a transformative step that will redefine how citizens, legal practitioners, and institutions interact with the laws of the state. He said the project positions Ondo as a frontrunner in leveraging technology for efficient and people-centred justice delivery.

Under the partnership, LawPavilion will undertake the full digitisation of Ondo State laws, including electronic publication, hosting, and continuous public access through its platform.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Olugasa said the initiative goes beyond business, describing it as a personal commitment to the development of Ondo State. He noted his long-standing relationship with the Attorney General and his personal ties to the state, adding that the project reflects his dedication to advancing a modern legal system.

He further disclosed that LawPavilion would deploy its LegalTech solutions, including its flagship platform, LawPavilion Prime, to that the laws are easily searchable, accessible, and user-friendly for stakeholders.

The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the Administrative Secretary of the Office of the Public Defenders, Mrs. Grace Olowoporoku; Director of Library Services at the Federal Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Helen Falowo; and the Special Assistant to the Attorney General, Mr. Bade Owate.

Dr. Ajulo explained that the digitisation project would eliminate dependence on bulky, expensive printed law reports, enabling faster and easier access for judges, lawyers, students, civil servants, and the general public.

He added that the initiative is expected to enhance efficiency within the justice system, reduce delays in legal processes, and strengthen the rule of law, while aligning the state with global best practices in digital governance.

Describing the collaboration as a model public-private partnership, the Attorney General emphasised that it is driven by shared values and a commitment to public good rather than profit.

“With this initiative, we are not just digitising laws; we are democratising justice and building a smarter, more inclusive future for our people,” he said.

The development marks a significant step in Ondo State’s efforts to modernise its legal framework and improve access to legal resources for all citizens.
