The Ogun State Police Command has deployed its School Protection Squad and strengthened collaboration with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Safe School Initiative as part of measures to enhance the safety and security of children and students across the state.
The initiative, being implemented under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, is aligned with the child- and school-protection agenda of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
The initiative is aimed at protecting students and school communities nationwide from threats including kidnapping, cultism, bullying and other forms of anti-social behaviour.
The Command also stressed the importance of effective emergency response plans in schools, urging parents, guardians, teachers and members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities.
The police urged the public to adopt the principle: See something. Say something. Report early. Protect a child. Save a future.
