Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 7 Division Provost Group have arrested a 25-year-old man suspected of providing logistics and intelligence support to Boko Haram insurgents operating in Borno State.

The suspect, identified as Mohammed Bulama, a resident of Mafa Local Government Area, was apprehended during an intelligence-driven surveillance operation conducted within the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC).

Military sources disclosed that Bulama was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. on June 1, 2026, at Ngawom, Muna Garage, following sustained monitoring and intelligence gathering by security operatives.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly supplied logistical support and sensitive information to members of the Boko Haram terrorist group, activities believed to have aided the operations of insurgents in parts of the state.

Security authorities have commenced further investigations to determine the extent of the suspect’s involvement, identify possible accomplices, and uncover any wider support network linked to terrorist activities in the region.

The arrest forms part of ongoing counterterrorism operations by the Nigerian military and other security agencies aimed at disrupting insurgent logistics networks and strengthening security across the North-East.

Borno State has remained a major theatre of Nigeria’s counterinsurgency campaign against Boko Haram and its splinter factions, with security forces intensifying intelligence-led operations to dismantle terrorist cells and their support structures.
