The approval brings the institution’s total number of programmes to 44 and is expected to take effect from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The Polytechnic disclosed this in a statement issued by its media unit in Uyo on Tuesday.

According to the institution, the approval was communicated in a letter signed by the Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes, Ayo Aroge, on behalf of the NBTE Executive Secretary.

The newly approved programmes will initially run for two years, while a further quality assurance assessment is scheduled for September 2028 as part of the process towards full accreditation.

The institution described the development as a major milestone for the administration of the Rector, Mrs Edumma Essien, saying the expanded programme offerings would provide students with more opportunities to pursue technical and professional careers.
