Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip have killed at least two people and wounded several others, including victims from a strike on a medical supply warehouse inside a hospital compound in central Gaza, according to Palestinian health officials.
The attack on Saturday targeted a tent being used as a medical supply warehouse within the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital complex in Deir el-Balah, injuring three people, the hospital’s director said.
The Israeli military confirmed carrying out a strike inside the hospital compound, claiming that the target was a Hamas commander. The claim has not been independently verified.
Separately, an Israeli drone strike hit a motorcycle in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood, killing at least one person and injuring two others, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency. The injured victims were taken to al-Quds Field Hospital.
Another person was killed by Israeli gunfire in the village of al-Musaddar, east of Deir el-Balah, while hospital officials also reported that an Israeli quadcopter dropped an explosive device near Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
The latest attacks came amid renewed Israeli military operations across Gaza despite a ceasefire arrangement that took effect in October last year.
Gaza’s Health Ministry said it had received 10 bodies over the past 48 hours, including nine newly killed victims and one person recovered from beneath rubble. The ministry added that 18 people were wounded during the same period.
It said several victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or on roads that emergency teams have been unable to access due to ongoing security conditions.
The ministry reported that 1,313 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Centre for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons said between 4,000 and 5,000 Palestinians are still missing and believed to be buried under rubble in Gaza.
The centre estimated that between 2,500 and 3,000 people may have been subjected to forced disappearance during the war and called for further investigations.
The report said an analysis of 317 cases found that 302 victims were male and 15 were female, including 41 children and 17 elderly people aged 60 years and above.
The war, which began in October 2023, has resulted in more than 73,000 Palestinian deaths and over 174,000 injuries in Gaza, according to Palestinian health authorities.
