Iran has reportedly carried out a series of precision missile and drone strikes against critical infrastructure across the Gulf since the outbreak of war involving Iran, the United States and Israel on February 28, 2026.
The reported attacks have targeted facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, raising concerns about the vulnerability of strategically important infrastructure across the region.
According to an investigation into the strikes, some of the equipment targeted was concealed beneath rooftops and protective structures, making it difficult to identify through conventional satellite imagery.

Other targets reportedly consisted of relatively small installations measuring only a few metres, suggesting that the attacks were directed at specific operational components rather than exclusively at large industrial complexes.
The reported targeting pattern has drawn attention to the importance of specialised equipment in the operation of energy facilities, industrial installations and other essential infrastructure.
Damage to critical components can disrupt wider operations even when surrounding structures remain largely intact.
The strikes have also raised questions about how Iran identified the locations and operational significance of equipment across multiple industries.
However, the precise intelligence methods used to select the targets have not been independently established.

The attacks form part of the wider regional consequences of the conflict, which has heightened security concerns around energy production, transportation networks and other economically important facilities.
The reported precision of the strikes underscores the challenges facing Gulf countries in protecting infrastructure containing equipment that may be small in size but essential to maintaining operations.
The full extent of the damage, the operational disruption caused by individual strikes, and the methods used to identify the targets remain subjects requiring further independent verification.
