Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the promotion of 374 officers serving in the Kwara State Police Command as part of efforts to reward professionalism, dedication, and outstanding service within the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the command, 365 constables were promoted to corporal, two corporals to sergeant, five sergeants to inspector, and two superintendents of police to chief superintendent.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, described the promotions as recognition of the officers’ contributions to maintaining law and order. He urged the beneficiaries to see their elevation as both a reward and a call to greater responsibility, professionalism, and commitment to public safety.

The commissioner also commended the IGP for prioritising personnel welfare, career advancement, and institutional development, noting that the promotion exercise has boosted morale within the command.
However, the promotions are expected to motivate officers, strengthen operational effectiveness, and reinforce the police leadership’s efforts to improve welfare and professionalism across the force.
