The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to closer collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to promote national values, responsible citizenship and conflict prevention.
The IGP gave the assurance while receiving the Director-General of the NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, during a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
During the meeting, the NOA Director-General reiterated the agency’s commitment to promoting civic responsibility and public enlightenment through initiatives such as the Nigeria Identity Project and the National Values Charter. He also proposed stronger collaboration with the Police in public sensitisation, intelligence sharing and early conflict prevention.
In his remarks, the Inspector-General of Police stressed the importance of professionalism, respect for human dignity and ethical policing in building public confidence in the Force.
He also urged Nigerians to verify information before sharing it on social media and encouraged the promotion of positive values among young people.
The Police Chief reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to sustained partnership with the NOA in advancing national security, strengthening civic responsibility and promoting national development.
