The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has elected Dr Ifeanyi Okoye, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Juhel Nigeria Limited, as its 12th president.

Okoye succeeds Otunba Francis Meshioye, whose four-year tenure ended at the association’s 54th Annual General Meeting held in Lagos on October 7, 2026.

The association’s Director-General, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, announced the leadership transition in a statement outlining Okoye’s professional qualifications, industrial experience and contributions to Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.

Okoye holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. He subsequently obtained a master’s degree and a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Technology and Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He established Juhel Nigeria Limited in 1987 as an indigenous pharmaceutical manufacturing company headquartered in Enugu State.

The company expanded its operations in 2001 when it relocated to a permanent manufacturing facility in Emene, Enugu, increasing its production capacity to include syrups and capsules.

In 2010, Juhel further strengthened its pharmaceutical manufacturing operations with the establishment of a parenteral production facility in Awka, Anambra State.

Okoye is a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and an alumnus of Harvard Business School, United States. He also attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Plateau State.

In 2012, he received the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) in recognition of his contributions.

His professional and public service experience includes membership of the Ministerial Committee on the Establishment of World-Class Hospitals and Diagnostic Centres between 2013 and 2015.

He also served on the Governing Council of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria from 2009 to 2022.

Within MAN, Okoye previously chaired the association’s Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi branches between 1998 and 2005 and served as vice president from 2006 to 2010.

His emergence as president places him at the head of the association responsible for representing manufacturers and engaging government and other stakeholders on industrial policies, production challenges and the development of Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.
