Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has emphasised the importance of unity among Christian denominations in promoting peace, tolerance and development across the state.
Fubara stated this at the 10th Spiritual Advisory Council Meeting and Annual Unity Service of Christ Church in Port Harcourt over the weekend.
Represented by his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, the governor reaffirmed the state government’s partnership with the Christian community and called for continued prayers for the state, its leaders and various communities.

He urged religious leaders and Christians across the state to sustain efforts that promote peaceful coexistence and strengthen unity among different denominations.
In his sermon, the Primate and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Ekpenyong Akpanika, identified divine backing and security as among the greatest advantages a person can have in life.
He encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith and seek God’s guidance in their daily lives.
