Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has extended warm greetings and appreciation to workers across the country as they join the global community in marking the 2026 International Workers’ Day.
In her message, the First Lady praised the resilience, dedication, and contributions of Nigerian workers to national growth and development, describing them as the backbone of the country’s progress.

She noted that public servants, private sector professionals, artisans, entrepreneurs, and other categories of workers continue to play a vital role in sustaining economic and social development in Nigeria.
Oluremi Tinubu also commended the efforts of trade unions for their continued advocacy for improved welfare and for fostering cooperation aimed at strengthening the nation’s workforce.
International Workers’ Day, observed annually on May 1, is celebrated globally to honour the achievements and struggles of workers.
