Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has pledged further support for the development of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, including facilitating the issuance of its Certificate of Occupancy.
The Governor committed to this when the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr Olugbemisola Titilayomi Odusote, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Yola. Dr Odusote, who led senior officials of the Law School to the meeting, commended the Governor for his administration’s support for the Yola Campus, particularly the recent intervention towards the construction of a 117-bed-space hostel.
She also sought the Governor’s assistance in securing the Certificate of Occupancy for the campus, as well as further interventions in the provision of utility vehicles, sustainable water supply and solar-powered lighting infrastructure.
According to her, the interventions would enhance the operations, security and welfare of students and staff of the institution.
Responding, Governor Fintiri congratulated Dr Odusote on her appointment as the first female Director-General of the Nigerian Law School and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the continued development of the Yola Campus.
He pledged to support the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy and expressed readiness to engage other governors in the North-East to mobilise collective support for the institution.
The Governor also commended the Nigerian Law School for its critical role in producing competent legal professionals for the country.
