The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has directed owners of hotels, event centres, and other public facilities in Abuja to deal only with the leadership of political parties recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The directive was issued amid ongoing political disputes within some parties over leadership and factional control.
The administration also warned that properties used for meetings or activities of organisations it described as “illegal” risk sanctions, including the possible revocation of title documents.

The FCTA said the measure is aimed at maintaining order and ensuring compliance with existing laws and regulations governing political activities in the Federal Capital Territory.
The development is expected to generate reactions from political stakeholders, especially parties currently facing internal leadership crises.

As of press time, further details regarding the implementation of the directive and affected organisations were yet to be officially clarified by the administration.
