A former governorship candidate of the Movement for Democracy and Justice (MDJ) in Rivers State, High Chief Clement Eke, has urged residents of the state to reject all forms of ethnic politics, warning that such politics often leads to violence.
Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt, Eke advised Rivers people to embrace the Rainbow Coalition, describing it as a platform designed to unite the various political factions that emerged from disagreements among stakeholders in the state.
He said the coalition provides an opportunity to foster unity and promote peaceful political engagement.
The former governorship candidate also expressed support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s decision to align with the Rainbow Coalition, describing the move as being in the best interest of Rivers State.
According to Eke, the alignment will strengthen cooperation between the Rivers State Government and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, creating opportunities to attract more federal projects for the overall development of the state.
