Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday led a high-level All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting aimed at strengthening unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Uyo, brought together party leaders, elected officials, and stakeholders across the state, with a focus on consolidating internal cohesion and ensuring the peaceful conduct of party primaries.

Governor Eno, who used the occasion to formally consult stakeholders on his second-term ambition under the APC platform, called for unity, loyalty, and collective responsibility among party members.
He urged stakeholders to work together to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible primary process, stressing that internal harmony would be key to the party’s success in 2027.
According to him, the meeting was convened to strengthen dialogue within the party and deepen cooperation among members ahead of the elections.
Governor Eno also announced the constitution of a committee to oversee the forthcoming party primaries and appealed to members to prioritise the collective interest of the APC over personal ambitions.
In his remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Governor Eno for promoting unity and political stability within the party in the state.
Akpabio also informed stakeholders of his intention to seek re-election to the Senate representing Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District in 2027.
The APC State Chairman, Stephen Ntukekpo, described the meeting as a critical step towards deepening cohesion within the party ahead of the elections.
He said the screening of aspirants for various elective positions had been successfully concluded peacefully and transparently, attributing the success to the discipline of party members.

Ntukekpo urged stakeholders to remain united and avoid actions that could undermine the collective interest of the party, while commending Governor Eno’s administration for ongoing development initiatives under the ARISE Agenda.
The meeting was attended by several prominent political figures, including the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong; Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kufreabasi Edidem; former Deputy Governor, Senator Chris Ekpenyong; and other serving and former lawmakers, party executives, and stakeholders across the state.
