Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has congratulated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar following his emergence as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general election.
Melaye compared Atiku’s victory at the ADC presidential primary to the recent English Premier League triumph of Arsenal F.C..
In a post shared on X, the former senator wrote: “Boss, you did it just like Arsenal.”
Chairman of the ADC presidential primary committee, Tunde Ogbeha, announced on Wednesday night that Atiku emerged the winner of the contest.

According to Ogbeha, Atiku secured 1,846,370 votes to defeat fellow aspirants Mohammed Hayatu-Deen and Rotimi Amaechi.
Amaechi polled 504,117 votes, while Hayatu-Deen received 177,120 votes.
Atiku will now make his sixth attempt at contesting for Nigeria’s presidency in the 2027 election.
The former vice president previously contested presidential elections in 2007, 2019 and 2023.

Meanwhile, Arsenal recently celebrated winning its first English Premier League title in 22 years after Manchester City F.C. played a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, a result that confirmed Arsenal as league champions.
