Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has appealed to United States President Donald Trump and the international community to pay close attention to the forthcoming Osun State governorship election. Davido appealed in a post on X on Tuesday, expressing concern over the possibility of violence, intimidation and disruption of the electoral process ahead of the August 15 poll.
The singer urged relevant authorities to protect voters and ensure that their votes are counted and respected.
He said the people of Osun State deserved to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely and peacefully, stressing that his priority was to prevent bloodshed and ensure a credible election.

Davido also called on political actors and residents to reject violence and provocation, insisting that the choice of voters must be respected.
The singer, who is a nephew of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has openly supported his uncle’s re-election bid and previously warned that he would seek Trump’s intervention if the electoral process was compromised.
The Osun governorship election is expected to feature Governor Adeleke and other candidates, including the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam.
