The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured an interim forfeiture order over a lounge and a four-bedroom bungalow located in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, in connection with an alleged N1.98 billion fraud.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin granted the order following an application filed by the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC.

The court held that the Commission had satisfied all necessary legal requirements for the interim forfeiture of the properties.
The forfeited assets include Town Tavern Lounge located at No. 1, Ikere Road, off Florence Court School, Ado-Ekiti, and a four-bedroom bungalow situated along Florence Court, Irewolede Estate, Ado-Ekiti.
According to the EFCC, the properties are linked to one Olorunbukunmi Taiwo, 43, who allegedly defrauded a victim identified as Lady Anazia Colina Kenechukwu of the sum of N1,980,000,000.
The anti-graft agency said the interim forfeiture forms part of ongoing investigations into the alleged fraud case.
Further proceedings on the matter are expected after the expiration of the interim forfeiture period, in line with legal procedures.
