British television personality, Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, revealing the news during the latest season of his popular documentary series, Clarkson’s Farm.

The 66-year-old broadcaster, widely known for his years as host of the motoring programme Top Gear, shared details of his diagnosis in scenes filmed last year and aired this week.

During a conversation featured in the series, Clarkson explained that medical tests following a routine health check led to the discovery of the disease.

“I had a medical examination, followed by a biopsy, and the results showed that I had an aggressive form of cancer,” he said.

Clarkson revealed that doctors detected the condition at an early stage, allowing him to undergo surgery in which approximately 10 per cent of his prostate was removed.

The television presenter stressed the importance of early diagnosis, noting that prompt medical attention significantly improved his outlook.

“Because it was caught early, there is every reason to be optimistic about the future,” he said, adding that delayed detection could have had far more serious consequences.

Ahead of the broadcast, Clarkson warned viewers that the final episodes of the season would be more emotional than usual.

In a video shared on Instagram, he described the episodes as difficult to watch, explaining that they differ greatly from the typically light-hearted and entertaining tone associated with the series.

“The final episodes are not the cheerful and charming stories viewers are used to. They are emotionally challenging,” he said.

Clarkson rose to international fame through the BBC’s Top Gear, where his outspoken style and controversial remarks made him one of Britain’s most recognisable television figures. His tenure on the programme ended in 2015 following an altercation with a member of the production team.

He later joined Amazon, where he reunited with former Top Gear colleagues Richard Hammond and James May for a new motoring series. He subsequently launched Clarkson’s Farm, which follows his experiences managing a farm in rural England and has become one of the platform’s most successful documentary programmes.

In an emotional moment featured at the end of the latest season, Clarkson addressed viewers from a hospital bed, expressing hope that his treatment would be successful and that he would return for future episodes.

While acknowledging uncertainty about the future, he remained optimistic and thanked fans for their continued support.
