Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has said the Allied People’s Movement (APM) will not engage in electoral malpractice during the 2027 general elections but will resist any attempt to deny the party victory through rigging.

Mohammed stated this on Friday at the Government House in Bauchi during the affirmation of candidates for elective positions in the state.

The governor said the party would not underestimate its political opponents, regardless of their status or perceived strength.

“We are not going to underestimate our competitors. Even if a child born today is a candidate, I am going to deal with him like a grown-up person,” Mohammed said.

He stressed that while the APM remains committed to democratic processes, it would not allow itself to be unfairly disadvantaged during the elections.

The governor’s remarks come amid growing political activities and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
