The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has urged members of the party in Osun State to remain steadfast despite what he described as attacks, oppression and intimidation from political opponents.
Aregbesola spoke during the ADC Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Ilesa, Osun State, where he commended party faithful for their loyalty and continued support for the party.

The former Governor of Osun State said the ADC remained committed to offering credible leadership and national renewal, insisting that the party had no reason to return to what he described as failed leadership at the national level.
“Those currently in charge of our affairs at the national level have failed to uphold the fundamental principles of government, which are the welfare and security of the people. Therefore, we have no reason to rejoin them,” he stated.
Aregbesola maintained that despite political pressure and intimidation, the ADC continued to record significant growth across the country.
He urged members not to relent in their mobilisation efforts, expressing confidence that the party would achieve victory in future elections.
The ADC National Secretary also endorsed the party’s governorship candidate for the forthcoming Osun governorship election, Najeem Folasayo Salaam Iwaloye.

Describing Iwaloye as “a man of the people,” Aregbesola said the candidate possesses the commitment and passion required to return Osun State to the path of development.
He called on residents of the state to support the ADC candidate, assuring them that the party would deliver purposeful leadership if elected into office.
