The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his reported appointment to President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.
The party described the appointment as recognition of Soludo’s political leadership and his support for cooperation between the Anambra State Government and the Federal Government.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, APGA National Publicity Secretary Ejimofor Opara said the governor had consistently promoted collaboration across party lines in pursuit of development in Anambra State and the South-East.

According to the reported revised composition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, other prominent political figures listed include Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo.
The arrangement reportedly places Tinubu as chairman of the council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as vice-chairmen.
Opara said APGA’s position reflected its earlier decision to support Tinubu’s re-election bid rather than present a separate presidential candidate in 2027.
He stated that the party adopted Tinubu as its consensus presidential candidate through a resolution of its National Executive Committee, a position he said was subsequently reaffirmed during the president’s visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025.
The party maintained that its cooperation with the APC at the presidential level would not affect its independence or participation in other electoral contests.
APGA said it intended to field candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and Anambra State House of Assembly while supporting Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
Opara also argued that cooperation between the state and federal administrations had created opportunities for collaboration on infrastructure and economic development.

He expressed the party’s belief that Soludo’s experience and political influence could contribute to the president’s campaign activities in the South-East.
APGA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining its political identity while pursuing cooperation with the Federal Government on matters affecting Anambra State.
The party’s statement reflects its declared political position ahead of the 2027 general elections and does not establish the outcome of the forthcoming contest.
