The All Progressives Congress (APC) has uploaded the name of its Rivers State governorship candidate, Kingsley Chinda, and those of 26 other governorship candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal ahead of the 2027 governorship elections.
The party has now submitted the names of its governorship candidates and running mates in 27 of the 28 states where governorship elections will be conducted.
The only outstanding state is in the North-East, where the selection of a running mate is expected to be finalised during a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja.
According to the party, the delay is due to the serving deputy governor in the state having completed two terms in office and therefore requiring a replacement on the ticket.
