The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Governor Umo Eno on the arrival of the first batch of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, describing the development as a major step toward fulfilling his administration’s development agenda.

In a statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Chief Patrick Edeke, the APC said the arrival of the buses reflects the governor’s commitment to implementing the objectives of his ARISE Agenda and delivering people-focused governance.

The party noted that the introduction of CNG-powered buses comes at a time when rising fuel prices have continued to increase transportation costs, stressing that the initiative would provide a more affordable and sustainable means of public transportation for residents.

According to the APC, the buses are expected to reduce transport fares, ease the financial burden on commuters, improve mobility, stimulate commercial activities and support economic growth across the state.

The party also described the initiative as a significant investment in environmentally friendly transportation, saying the adoption of cleaner energy aligns with global efforts to promote sustainability and reduce carbon emissions.

It added that the deployment of the buses demonstrates the state’s commitment to innovation and positions Akwa Ibom among sub-national governments embracing modern and sustainable transport solutions.

The APC further stated that the initiative would improve residents’ access to economic opportunities, facilitate trade and enhance the overall quality of life in the state.

The party congratulated Governor Eno on what it described as a landmark achievement and expressed optimism that the project would pave the way for more developmental milestones in Akwa Ibom State.
