Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has left Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker out of his 26-man squad for November’s international friendlies against Japan and Singapore, insisting the experienced shot-stopper remains central to his plans.

Ancelotti announced the squad on Thursday, October 29, at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil will face Japan on November 14 before playing Singapore on November 17, with both matches scheduled for the National Stadium in Singapore.

Explaining Alisson’s omission, Ancelotti described the Liverpool goalkeeper as Brazil’s best in his position, stressing that his abilities were already well known to the technical crew.

He indicated that Alisson would remain under consideration for the 2028 Copa América as Brazil continue its rebuilding process.

The Italian tactician explained that the squad reflected a deliberate effort to introduce younger players following Brazil’s disappointing elimination by Norway in the round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The selection includes 15 players under 23 and nine of Olympic age, highlighting the coaching staff’s emphasis on developing emerging talents.

Corinthians midfielder André Luiz, Cruzeiro defender Jonathan Jesus, Manchester City’s Allan, and Shakhtar Donetsk duo Marlon Gomes and Alisson Santana received their first senior national team call-ups.

Chelsea winger Estêvão also retained his place despite limited playing opportunities at club level, while Vinícius Júnior, Raphinha and Endrick provide experience in attack.

Meanwhile, no players from Flamengo or Palmeiras were selected following consultations aimed at avoiding disruption to their closely contested Brazilian league title race.

Atlético Mineiro also has no representatives in the squad.

The friendlies will conclude Brazil’s international engagements for 2026 as Ancelotti continues preparations for the next major international competitions.
