Akwa Ibom State Government has taken a major step to boost its hospitality and tourism industry by signing, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aleph Technical and Advisory Services for the management of government-owned hospitality facilities across the state.
The MoU was signed at Government House, Uyo, shortly after Governor Umo Eno returned from official engagements in Abuja and CSS Farms in Nasarawa State.
Under the agreement, Aleph Technical and Advisory Services will manage four key state-owned facilities, including Ibom Icon and Golf Resort, Four Points by Sheraton, Ibom International Hotel, and the ARISE Palm Resort.
Speaking at the event, Governor Umo Eno noted that Akwa Ibom has the potential to become a leading tourism destination and assured the Aleph team of his administration’s full support to ensure the successful management of the facilities.
In his presentation, Aleph’s team lead, Jad Shamseddin, stated that the group had conducted a thorough assessment of the facilities, noting that they were built to international standards.
He highlighted the strengths and areas needing improvement, assuring that minor adjustments would help the facilities achieve their full potential.
The Hotel Management Agreement (HMA) will be signed after the completion of due diligence.
