President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has praised the prevailing political harmony in Akwa Ibom State, describing Essien Udim Local Government Area as a model of unity and grassroots mobilisation.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Essien Udim on Wednesday, Akpabio said the peace and cooperation among political actors in the area had strengthened the All Progressives Congress (APC) and eliminated internal opposition.
He urged stakeholders to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections, noting that Essien Udim, regarded as the APC stronghold in the state, must lead in delivering massive support for all party candidates.
Akpabio also highlighted key developmental projects that have been attracted to the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District and commended President Bola Tinubu for extending development initiatives to the grassroots.
At the meeting, stakeholders unanimously endorsed President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Senator Akpabio and other APC candidates for the next general elections.
