A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Kola Ologbondiyan, has urged aggrieved members of the party to approach the party’s appeal committee with credible evidence if they believe the presidential primary election results were manipulated.

Ologbondiyan made the call on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television while reacting to complaints trailing the conduct of the ADC primaries.

According to him, the party already has established mechanisms for resolving disputes and handling grievances arising from the electoral process.

“Allegations cannot just come without proof. The party has already constituted an appeal committee,” he said.

He added that party leaders were capable of managing internal disagreements through laid-down procedures.

“Those who can prove the allegations of manipulation can go to the appeal committee,” Ologbondiyan stated.

His comments come amid growing discontent among some aspirants and party members following the outcome of the ADC presidential primary election.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar emerged the winner of the exercise after polling 1,846,370 votes to defeat former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who scored 504,117 votes.

Some aggrieved members had raised concerns over alleged irregularities and manipulation during the primary process.
