The Abia State Government has commenced the reallocation of newly constructed shops at the Ekeoha Shopping Complex in Aba as part of efforts to modernise commercial infrastructure in the state.
The exercise, being coordinated by the Abia State Ministry of Trade and Commerce in partnership with Rhino Homes and Properties Limited, is targeted at traders and applicants who have fully paid for shops in the Phase One development of the market project.
In a public announcement released on Tuesday, the ministry stated that only eligible participants would be allowed to take part in the reallocation process.

According to the statement, beneficiaries include existing shop owners affected by the redevelopment whose allocation certificates are captured in the official Market Register, as well as new applicants who previously obtained preliminary clearance from either the ministry or Rhino Homes and Properties Limited.
The ministry stressed that participants seeking final clearance and allocation must present evidence of previous ownership or preliminary approval alongside proof of full payment for the shops.
The reallocation exercise, which began on May 7, is expected to end on May 14, 2026.
Applicants were advised to complete the process either online or through physical verification.
For online participation, applicants are expected to visit the official portal and upload all required documents using an active email address.
Those opting for physical verification were directed to report to the GADA Building, No. 3 River Avenue, Aba, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on working days with original and duplicate copies of their documents, including valid means of identification.
The ministry further assured participants that all successfully verified allocations would be officially entered into the Market Register, after which Certificates of Allocation would be issued to beneficiaries.

The redevelopment of the Ekeoha Shopping Complex is part of the infrastructure renewal drive of the administration of Alex Otti aimed at improving business activities and trading conditions in Aba, the commercial hub of the state.
