The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, as Secretary of the party’s National Convention Central Coordination Committee, as preparations intensify for its forthcoming national convention scheduled for March 27 and 28, 2026.
The development was announced in a statement on Monday by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, who also disclosed that the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the 73-member committee.
Basiru explained that the committee would coordinate all activities leading to the 2026 national convention, which will culminate in the emergence of new members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
He recalled that the party had last year released a comprehensive timetable for its 2025/2026 ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses across the country, which would ultimately lead to the national convention.
Members of the Central Coordination Committee include governors Umo Bassey Eno (Akwa Ibom), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Babagana Umara Zulum (Borno), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Abba Kabir Yusuf (Kano), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Dikko Umaru Radda (Katsina), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi), Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), Mohammed Umar Bago (Niger), Abiodun Adedapo Oluseun (Ogun), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang (Plateau), Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), and Agbu Kefas (Taraba).
Other members of the committee include APC Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; former APC National Chairmen Adams Oshiomhole, Abdullahi Adamu, and Abdullahi Ganduje; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohamed Idris Malagi; and Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.).
Also listed are Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu; former Senate Presidents Anyim Pius Anyim, Ken Nnamani, and Ahmed Lawan; as well as former Speakers of the House of Representatives Aminu Bello Masari, Patricia Etteh, Dimeji Bankole, Yakubu Dogara, and Femi Gbajabiamila.
The list further includes Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele and other key party leaders and stakeholders.
