President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has congratulated Nigeria’s senior national football team, the Super Eagles, on reaching the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
In a message delivered through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the team as the pride of the nation.
“I heartily congratulate the Super Eagles on their impressive 2-0 victory over Algeria, securing a well-deserved place in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations,” the Senate President said, reacting to Saturday’s match in Marrakech.
“This achievement is a testament to the team’s unwavering dedication, resilience, and teamwork,” he added.
Akpabio encouraged the players to maintain focus and build on their momentum as they prepare to face hosts Morocco in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
“We are proud of you. The 10th Senate and all Nigerians are behind you, cheering you on to bring home the trophy,” he said.
