The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its determination to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, describing victory as non-negotiable while promising peaceful and secure campaign activities nationwide.
The declaration was made during Sunday’s inauguration of national and sub-national structures of the Directorate of Security and Intelligence of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja.
Representing APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Professor Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, emphasised the importance of discipline, coordination and effective security arrangements throughout the electioneering period.

Kana urged members of the directorate to ensure that campaign venues, access roads and surrounding communities were adequately assessed and secured before, during and after political gatherings.
He maintained that proper organisation and security planning would be essential to the party’s electoral activities.
Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), who serves as a secretary of the directorate, expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances of securing another term.
Musa said the immediate responsibility of the security team was to provide an environment where campaign activities could proceed without violence or intimidation.
The directorate’s head, Major General Sarkin Yaki Bello (retd.), similarly urged members to operate within the law and avoid actions capable of threatening citizens or undermining democratic participation.
He stressed that their responsibility was to maintain order and protect participants rather than create fear.
Also speaking, former Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin (retd.), indicated that operational preparations would extend across Nigeria’s 36 states.

The inauguration follows Tinubu’s formal launch of the APC Presidential Campaign Council on October 14, as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The party’s declaration of confidence, however, remains a political objective rather than a predetermined electoral outcome.
Nigeria’s electoral process requires voters to determine the winner through the ballot, with all political parties expected to conduct their activities peacefully and in accordance with electoral laws.
