The University of Uyo has approved the promotion of 65 new Professors and 58 Associate Professors, marking one of the institution’s largest academic elevation exercises in recent years.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, announced the promotions on Wednesday during the 138th Meeting of the University Senate in Uyo.
Prof. Ndaeyo said the exercise reflects the institution’s commitment to recognising excellence, noting that rewarding hard work serves as motivation for staff to maintain high standards of teaching, research, and service.
The Vice Chancellor, who presided over his final Senate meeting as Chairman, expressed appreciation to members of the university community for the support extended to him throughout his five-year tenure.
He will exit office at the completion of his tenure, having overseen several academic and structural advancements during his administration.
