Primate Elijah Ayodele has responded to criticism surrounding his prophecies, saying he remains focused on what he believes to be divine instructions rather than public judgment.
Ayodele, who has frequently issued prophecies on political and national developments, made the remarks in a message shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday.
The cleric said criticism would not distract him from what he described as his responsibility to proclaim and pursue the fulfilment of God’s word.
“I am not interested in my critics. I’m only interested in the way forward, in the acceleration of the word of the Lord for His endorsement and for His fulfilment. Simple,” Ayodele said.
He maintained that his actions and decisions were ultimately subject to divine direction rather than the judgment of individuals.
“Nobody can judge me because they are not God. Nobody will tell me that this is right or this is wrong,” he said.
Ayodele added that he believed only God had the authority to direct his actions and determine whether they were right or wrong.
“It is only God who tells me, ‘Don’t do this. Do this. Do this. Don’t do that.’ It is only God who can judge me, not man,” he said.
The cleric’s remarks come amid recurring public debate over prophetic declarations made by religious leaders on political developments, elections and other national issues.
Ayodele maintained that criticism would not determine the direction of his ministry, insisting that his focus remained on fulfilling what he considers his divine assignment.
