The Osun State Police Command has arrested three men suspected of attacking and robbing students around Oke-Baale and adjoining areas of Osogbo, the state capital.
The suspects were identified as Abass Quadri, 26; Olanrewaju Joshua, 24; and Yusuf Taiwo, 25.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed the arrests in a statement issued on Thursday.
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended following complaints from students of Osun State University over alleged repeated attacks along routes they used regularly.
Ojelabi said police operatives launched patrols and raided a suspected criminal hideout on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, leading to the arrest of the three suspects.

The command alleged that the suspects typically stopped students by force, threatened them and collected their mobile phones during the attacks.
They were also accused of compelling victims to transfer money to them using their phones.
The police spokesperson said the three suspects had been arraigned before a court, while investigations and efforts to arrest other individuals allegedly connected to the incidents were continuing.
The command urged residents, particularly students, to remain alert and report suspicious movements, threats or criminal activities to the police or the nearest security formation.

The police assured members of the public that information supplied to security authorities would assist ongoing efforts to improve safety around the affected areas.
