At least five people were injured in a Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian port city of Odesa i on Sunday, Ukrainian officials said, a day after Russian strikes on the city killed two people and injured 26 others.
The latest attack damaged residential areas in several districts of Odesa, according to Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa military administration. Authorities were still assessing the full extent of the destruction and casualties.
The attack came as Russia continued overnight strikes against several parts of Ukraine, with regional authorities in western areas reporting further attacks into Sunday morning. No civilian casualties were immediately reported from those regions.

Odesa, Ukraine’s main port hub on the Black Sea, has faced repeated Russian missile and drone attacks during the war. The attacks have periodically forced the closure or disruption of seaports that are vital to the country’s agricultural and other exports.
DEADLY ATTACKS CONTINUE
The latest casualties followed a Russian drone strike on Odesa on Saturday morning that hit an apartment building, killing two people and injuring 26 others.
The repeated attacks have caused damage to residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure across the city, while emergency services have continued search, rescue and recovery operations following overnight strikes.
Odesa’s strategic importance has made it a frequent target during the conflict. Its port facilities are central to Ukraine’s maritime trade and provide an important outlet for the export of agricultural commodities and other goods.
The continuing attacks have also increased pressure on local authorities and emergency responders as they work to assess damage and assist affected residents.

Russia has repeatedly used drones and missiles against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, while Ukraine has carried out its own long-range strikes against Russian military, industrial and energy-related targets.
Sunday’s attack adds to a renewed wave of strikes across Ukraine as the war continues, with neither side showing signs of an immediate end to military operations.
Ukrainian authorities said damage assessments from the latest Odesa attack were continuing, while emergency personnel remained engaged at affected sites.
