Former Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas has continued to make history with Como after guiding the Italian club from Serie B to their first-ever UEFA Champions League victory.
Three years ago, when Fabregas took charge of Como, the club was competing in Italy’s second tier. Under his leadership, Como secured promotion to Serie A and later achieved Champions League qualification last season.
The club marked its debut in Europe’s elite competition with a remarkable performance, defeating RB Leipzig 4-0 to record their first-ever Champions League win.

Fabregas’ transformation of Como has earned widespread praise, with the club’s president comparing his influence to that of legendary Barcelona figure Johan Cruyff.
“He is for us what Johan Cruyff was for Barcelona,” Como’s president said in an interview with Movistar.
Fabregas, who transitioned from a successful playing career into management, has been credited with building Como into one of Italy’s fastest-rising football projects, combining tactical development with long-term club growth.
