The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory while condemning alleged post-election killings and attacks in the state.

Oyebamiji, who spoke on Saturday in Osogbo while addressing APC leaders, members and supporters, urged Governor Adeleke, as the state’s Chief Security Officer, to take urgent steps to protect lives and property following reports of violence targeting political supporters.

The APC candidate described the reported killings, harassment and intimidation of party members and supporters as unacceptable, calling for an end to attacks on citizens and businesses allegedly linked to political affiliations.

He called on the Nigeria Police Force to investigate the incidents and ensure that those responsible for acts of violence are brought to justice. Oyebamiji also extended condolences to families of victims of political violence.

While congratulating Adeleke on his re-election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Oyebamiji said his party would continue to pursue justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means regarding the electoral process.

He urged APC members and supporters to remain committed to democracy and begin preparations for the 2027 general elections, calling on party leaders to strengthen their structures and remain united.

Oyebamiji also acknowledged the importance of maintaining peace in Osun State, stressing that security and stability were necessary for economic growth, investment and development.
