The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Lilypond Export Command, has witnessed a change in leadership following the retirement of Comptroller Samuel Ariyibi from the Service.
Deputy Comptroller of Customs Olusola Salako has assumed office as the Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command.
The transition was formalised on Monday, August 24, 2026, during a handing-over and taking-over ceremony held at the Command, in line with established administrative procedures.
In his farewell remarks, Ariyibi thanked the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, the management of the Service, officers and men of the Command, and other stakeholders for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure.
He attributed the Command’s achievements during his tenure to teamwork, professionalism, discipline, dedication and effective collaboration between officers and stakeholders.
Ariyibi urged personnel to extend the same cooperation to the incoming Acting CAC and sustain the operational standards and gains recorded under his leadership.
Taking over, Salako commended Ariyibi for his dedicated and meritorious service to the Nigeria Customs Service and his contributions to the development of the Lilypond Export Command.
He pledged to provide purposeful, responsive and professional leadership, with particular emphasis on trade facilitation, regulatory compliance, anti-smuggling operations and stronger engagement with stakeholders.
The new Acting CAC also appealed to stakeholders to maintain their support and cooperation as the Command seeks to strengthen its operations and contribute further to Nigeria’s economic development.
