Former President of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, is billed to commission 15 completed road projects in Bauchi metropolis today, Monday, August 10, 2026.

The projects, executed by the Bauchi State Ministry of Works and Transport under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed, are part of the government’s sustained investment in road infrastructure aimed at opening up communities, improving connectivity and easing transportation within the state capital.

The projects are also expected to enhance commercial activities and facilitate the movement of people, goods and services across Bauchi metropolis.

Speaking with journalists ahead of the ceremony, the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah, said the completion of the projects reflected the commitment of the Bala Mohammed-led administration to providing quality and sustainable infrastructure for the people of the state.

The commissioner said the government would continue to prioritise road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance as critical components of its development agenda.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Engr. Mohammed Hamisu Garba, said in a statement that the commissioning was coming as the Bauchi State Government intensified its infrastructure interventions across the state, with road development remaining a key component of its efforts to promote urban renewal, improve mobility and create an enabling environment for socio-economic activities.

Garba urged residents to take ownership of the projects by protecting the infrastructure and supporting government efforts to maintain the roads for sustainable use.
