A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Musa Kwankwaso, has praised President Bola Tinubu for the Federal Government’s role in the successful rescue of 176 residents of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Kwankwaso made the commendation in a statement issued on Thursday, describing the operation as a significant milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity across the country.
He noted that the freed residents, who were abducted on February 3, 2026, regained their freedom after spending nearly six months in captivity, bringing relief to their families and communities.
According to him, the successful operation demonstrates the administration’s commitment to restoring peace and protecting lives.
“The release of the 176 residents shows that President Tinubu’s administration is making meaningful progress in addressing the country’s security challenges,” he said.
The Kwara State Government had earlier announced the rescue through its official Facebook page on Wednesday, describing the operation as a breakthrough. It also commended President Tinubu, security agencies and all those involved in securing the victims’ release.
Kwankwaso urged political opponents to acknowledge government successes whenever significant progress is recorded in the fight against insecurity.
He also applauded the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Ministers of Defence and the Service Chiefs for their roles in the operation, expressing confidence that sustained security efforts would eventually overcome the country’s security challenges.
The APC stalwart further expressed optimism that the administration’s achievements, particularly in the area of security, would strengthen President Tinubu’s support ahead of the 2027 general election.
He said many Nigerians, especially in the North, would likely consider the administration’s performance when making their electoral decisions.
