The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the private sector to improve logistics support, fleet maintenance and operational readiness in the fight against insecurity across the country.

The Army Chief stated this on Tuesday while receiving the executive management of Elizade Nigeria Limited during a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

Represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans (Army), Major General Bamidele Alabi, Lieutenant General Shaibu said a reliable and mission-ready vehicle fleet remains critical to sustaining combat operations, facilitating rapid troop deployment and enhancing the Army’s capacity to respond effectively to emerging security threats.

He noted that collaboration between the military and the private sector has become indispensable in strengthening defence capabilities, particularly in fleet management, equipment maintenance, technical support and manpower development.

According to the COAS, such strategic partnerships align with the Nigerian Army’s transformation agenda of building a technologically advanced, agile and self-reliant force capable of meeting contemporary security challenges.

He commended Elizade Nigeria Limited for its sustained support to the Nigerian Army through the supply of vehicles, maintenance services, technical collaboration and industrial training programmes for personnel of military workshop units.

The Army Chief said the company’s contributions had complemented ongoing efforts to strengthen the Army’s logistics architecture and improve operational efficiency in protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Lieutenant General Shaibu also assured the company of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to providing a secure environment that encourages investment and economic growth, stressing that national security and national development are closely interconnected.

He added that stronger collaboration among the military, government institutions and the private sector would help build resilient defence capabilities, sustain operational effectiveness and promote lasting peace and prosperity.

Earlier, the Branch Manager of Elizade Nigeria Limited, Mr Adeniji Abiodun Adeyinka, conveyed the goodwill of the company’s founder, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, and its management to the Chief of Army Staff.

He commended the Army Chief for his leadership and praised the Nigerian Army’s efforts in tackling the country’s security challenges.

Mr Adeyinka reaffirmed Elizade Nigeria Limited’s commitment to deepening its longstanding partnership with the Nigerian Army through enhanced technical support, fleet maintenance services, industrial attachment opportunities and the provision of quality automotive solutions tailored to the Army’s operational requirements.
