The Progressive Governors Forum, PGF, has congratulated Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, on his recognition as the Most Outstanding Governor in the South-South Region at the Daily Times Nigeria Heroes Centenary Awards.

The forum said the award reflected the governor’s performance in infrastructure development, agriculture, healthcare, education, youth empowerment and social welfare under his administration’s ARISE Agenda.

In a statement signed by its Director-General, Folorunso S. Aluko, the PGF said Eno had demonstrated a leadership style anchored on what it described as compassion, inclusion, disciplined implementation and measurable impact.

The forum cited the administration’s road projects, support for farmers and entrepreneurs, renovation and upgrading of schools and hospitals, youth-focused programmes and the Compassionate Homes initiative for vulnerable families.

It also noted the government’s stated commitment to extending development projects across Akwa Ibom’s 31 local government areas, saying the approach was aimed at ensuring that residents in different parts of the state benefited from government programmes.

According to the PGF, Eno’s leadership had also been characterised by consultation, political maturity and what it described as a bridge-building approach to governance.

The forum said the award should be viewed not only as recognition of Eno’s achievements but also as a call for the administration to sustain and deepen its development programmes.

The PGF further linked Eno’s recognition to what it described as the broader contribution of progressive governors to national development, saying state governments remained critical to the implementation of reforms and delivery of public services.

It said governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress were complementing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through people-oriented programmes, reforms and prudent management of public resources.

The forum commended the organisers of the Daily Times Nigeria Heroes Centenary Awards for recognising what it described as leadership based on service and measurable impact.

It also urged the people of Akwa Ibom to continue supporting the Eno administration and the implementation of the ARISE Agenda.

The PGF wished the governor continued success in his efforts to develop the state and improve the welfare of its residents.
