The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to improving the welfare, health and overall well-being of its personnel, describing staff wellness as essential to productivity and effective service delivery.
Olukoyede gave the assurance on Tuesday at the EFCC International Men’s Day Wellness Seminar in Abuja, themed “Promoting Men’s Physical, Mental, and Emotional Well-being for Enhanced Productivity.” He was represented by the Secretary to the Commission, Muhammad Hammajoda.
The EFCC chairman said the seminar formed part of the Commission’s broader staff welfare initiatives aimed at addressing issues affecting officers and enhancing their performance.
He stressed that the anti-graft agency would continue to support its workforce through programmes that promote physical and mental well-being.

Experts at the seminar urged male officers to prioritise their health by maintaining a balance between work, family responsibilities and personal well-being.
Clinical psychologist and family therapist, Jeph Oluwagbemiga, said men often face enormous pressure from the workplace and family, urging them to adopt healthier lifestyles to improve productivity and family stability.
Mental health specialist, Dr Bukola Williams, called on officers to embrace regular medical check-ups, physical exercise and healthy living, noting that many health conditions affecting men are preventable.
Also speaking, licensed clinical psychologist, Dr Muhsin Jega, encouraged men to break the culture of silence by seeking emotional support from trusted family members, friends and professionals instead of suppressing personal challenges.

Earlier, Acting Director of Staff Welfare Services, Deputy Commander of EF, CC Felicia Bot-Timothy, said the seminar was organised to address the unique health needs of male officers and promote preventive healthcare.
She commended Olukoyede for introducing compulsory monthly physical exercise, encouraging routine medical examinations and establishing a fully equipped gymnasium for staff, describing the initiatives as critical to building a healthier and more productive workforce.
