Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have foiled an attempted mass abduction and rescued 27 kidnapped victims during separate security operations in Sokoto and Zamfara states.

The successful operations, carried out over the past two days, were disclosed by security analyst Bakatsine in a post shared on X on Wednesday.

According to him, the troops thwarted a planned mass abduction along the Gummi–Sokoto highway after responding swiftly to intelligence on the attack.

The soldiers reportedly engaged the suspected kidnappers in a gun battle, forcing the assailants to flee before they could execute the planned abduction.

In separate operations across Sokoto and Zamfara states, the troops also rescued 27 victims who had earlier been abducted by criminal elements.

The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families.

Bakatsine said the operations also led to the recovery of several livestock and motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing suspects.
