The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, has reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Nigeria Police Force to enhance security and promote youth development across the state.

During a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, the State Chairman of NYCN, Comrade Emmanuel Ekong, commended Governor Umo Eno for prioritising youth inclusion and security under the ARISE Agenda, particularly the integration of village youth presidents into the state’s security architecture.

The youth body also raised concerns over the indiscriminate parking of articulated vehicles on major roads, vandalism of public infrastructure and the destruction of farmlands by stray cattle, calling for decisive action to address the challenges.

Responding, CP Azare applauded the NYCN’s commitment to peace and urged youths to support intelligence gathering and community policing.

He assured that the Command’s Anti-Grazing Unit would investigate reported cases of farmland destruction and advised communities against taking the law into their own hands.
