President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday administered the oath of office to Mr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The brief ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with the new ministers joined by their spouses and senior government officials.

Their appointments followed the resignation of former ministers Yusuf Tuggar (Foreign Affairs) and Chief Adebayo Adelabu (Power), who left to pursue political ambitions. Both nominees were subsequently confirmed by the Senate on May 6, 2026.
Mr Tegbe, a civil engineer and seasoned economic and institutional reform expert with over 35 years of experience, previously worked with KPMG Africa and has been involved in major national reforms across fiscal policy, power, and telecommunications sectors.
Ambassador Enikanolaiye, a veteran diplomat and former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, served Nigeria in several foreign missions and later worked as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs before his appointment.

The Presidency says the new appointments are aimed at strengthening governance in key strategic sectors.
