A pressure group within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the Kebbi ADC Unity Forum, has called on the party’s governorship candidate, Abubakar Malami, to as a matter of importance select his deputy governorship candidate from Kebbi South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 election.

The group specifically endorsed Paul Gambo Tase, describing him as experienced, competent, and capable of strengthening the party’s chances at the polls.

Speaking through its coordinator, Garba Abdulkareem, the forum argued that since Malami is from Kebbi Central, zoning the deputy governorship position to Kebbi South would promote fairness, inclusiveness, and regional balance.

The forum, which says it comprises party members, professionals, community leaders, youths, and women, noted that Tase has expressed readiness to serve if chosen by the party.

Tase, a retired economist and former employee of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, contested the 2023 governorship election in Kebbi State under the Labour Party platform.
